Sioris Deep In A Barrier Cream Review
This search for the perfect night cream… oh has it been a tedious one. I’ve tried really expensive ones—too tacky. I’ve tried really cheap ones—made my face sensitive. But, I’ve finally found a night cream that I think I’ll stick with for a long time: the Sioris Deep In A Barrier Cream.
Key Ingredients
The Sioris Deep In A Barrier Cream contains Tamanu Oil, Macadamia Seed Oil, and Centella Asiatica to name just a few ingredients. But what do these ingredients do? Let me give you a quick rundown:
- Tamanu Oil: This oil deeply moisturizes the skin and makes it supple. And it’s also excellent for brightening up acne scars and other hyperpigmentation.
- Macadamia Seed Oil: This oil contains a bunch of antioxidants that are great for anti-aging and it’s non-comedogenic.
- Centella Asiatica: This plant extract probably doesn’t need an introduction by now—it’s the soothing and calming extract that’s become a staple in any soothing skincare routine the past few years.
So, what’s so special about this cream?
For me, a good moisturizer is what really ties my whole skincare routine together. I’m very picky with my moisturizers and have always been on the lookout for a night cream that deeply hydrates and nourishes my skin, while at the same time not being too thick to clog my pores or make my face feel tacky and sticky when I sleep. The Sioris Deep In A Barrier Cream checked off all the boxes for me.
The cream itself is pretty simple, It doesn’t contain any actives, and doesn’t promise miracles: it just does its job. And it does it so well! I started using this cream thinking that it’d probably be too thick for my oily skin, but I’ve been so pleasantly surprised these past few months that I’ve kept coming back to it.
The cream dispenses from an airless bottle (less bacteria!) and has a pistachio-green color. Since there’s no added fragrance, this cream has a very natural scent. I know some find the smell similar to traditional Korean medicine but to me it just smells… like grass? Either way, the scent disappears when it’s applied to your skin so it hasn’t been a real concern.
I usually use two pumps of this cream for my face and neck. This is just the right amount for someone with oily skin like me. The cream glides on and even though it’s somewhat dense, it sinks into my skin after a few minutes and doesn’t leave any tackiness, oiliness, or wet feeling behind.
How has it changed my skin?
More than magically transforming my skin, this cream has kept my skin troubles at bay. It hasn’t caused me any further acne or clogged pores when I’ve had active breakouts. And when my skin has been sensitive from overuse of acids, this cream has calmed and nourished my skin and kept it from feeling and looking irritated.
The Sioris Deep In A Barrier Cream has also helped a lot with lightening up some of the bigger acne scars I have on my cheeks—they are significantly less visible now than they were in spring.
Sioris Deep In A Barrier Cream Review: Final Thoughts
Basically, I love this night cream. It’s such a no-fuss and no-frills cream that does what it says and treats my skin the way it deserves to be treated. It works with all the other products I use and hasn’t caused my skin to break out even once. It’s a hit for me!
