Be Mused Korea visits a wellness cafe in Gangnam, Seoul
I work at Be Mused Korea which is in Gangnam, Seoul near the popular trendy area called Garosugil. I am bombarded daily on my commute to work with not only countless shops but also tons of trendy cafes with unique themes.
Olosi Tea & Healing Cafe
So, when I saw the sign for OLOSI Cafe I knew I had to make a visit. I was drawn to it since wellness and spa-like cafes are becoming popular in Seoul. The ‘Tea & Healing’ part also called out to the introvert in me.
I dragged the other ladies from Be Mused Korea team to come with me to check out this new cafe. To our surprise, the cafe was not exactly what we expected. Cafes in this area are usually trendy instagrammable themed atmosphere with pretty drinks and food usually aimed at the 20s and 30s crowd.
First, Olosi Tea & Healing Cafe is a straight up resting spot without the usual Garosugil instagrammable cafe vibe. “Homely rustic” is how Lisa @beautybemused described it! There was a much older crowd plus some businessmen. Moreover, there were not many of the usual younger crowd that are busy taking photos for their social media outlets. This was totally fine for me and the Be Mused Korea ladies as we were so ready for some healing tea with foot spa without distraction!
Olosi Cafe’s Concept
The unique part about this cafe is that they offer massages and foot baths. You can choose from the menu to get a massage from certified massage therapists. They offered lower body massage, foot massage, and neck & shoulders massage for a decent price. They also offered a self-foot spa where you can dip your feet in a warm foot soak with colorful natural bath salt while drinking tea.
We all opted for chilled herbal tea and foot soak. The foot soak can be enjoyed for 20+ minutes while sipping tea. Not bad for $10. We were able to get this for half price thanks to their opening special.
Getting the Tea
Olosi offers a wide range of tea selection which included premium teas named Scarlet Flower, Blue Mint, Golden Chamomile, Citrus Island, Rooibos Golden Sunset, Earl Grey Classic, and Dragon Breakfast. Pretty much every tea you can think of for a healing theme. You could choose to order them hot or iced and they came with an extra glass to refill your cup.
A Cafe with Foot Soaks!
A relaxing foot soak by the windows felt amazing in the middle of hot summer in Seoul. The foot spa station is self-service so you can fill the bath yourself with water temperature to your liking and add in the colorful natural bath salts they provide. They do clean the baths after each customer so you can be assured they’re not dirty.
While the age demographic and interior atmosphere of Olosi was not what I thought it would be, this cafe definitely had some enjoyable qualities. It’s a nice place to drop by and get a foot bath after a long day of shopping on Garosugil in Sinsa. They also offer Western-style salads and sandwiches so it’s also a good place to take relatives and family members.
Do you enjoy visiting themed cafes? What do you think about cafes with foot spas?
