I’m Lisa, the creator of Be Mused Korea shop, and now the editor-in-chief of this new beauty editorial blog you are looking at! I was fortunate to work alongside wonderfully talented and supportive people throughout the launch of Be Mused Korea, and now this new beauty editorial venture – Be Mused World – begins! With the help and support from many of you, we want to turn Be Mused World into your favorite K-Beauty Lifestyle Herald for 2018 and beyond! Most of our content will be created by beauty experts and lifestyle bloggers around the globe, and sometimes by our staff writers right here in Seoul, and once in a blue moon, by me!
As one of my favorite mentally unstable idol once said, “Beauty has no obvious use; nor is there any clear cultural necessity for it. Yet civilization could not do without it.” (Sigmud Freud) That, of course, can be interpreted in myriads of ways. But I love how effortlessly translates to how we feel at ease and comfort in presence of beauty. The notion of beauty and attractiveness may change over time and differ across cultures, but we can’t deny its perpetual presence. Undoubtedly, we know that beauty indeed is in the eye of the beholder. But what about the beauty of our skin? Is our standard of what is beautiful skin universal? Do we all want that wrinkle-free, pore-less, water-glow, plumped up skin? That perfect skin many Korean celebrities adorn; is that really achievable just with good skincare products and practices? These are questions will eventually address here at Be Mused World.
Besides rounding up different points of views to metaphysical questions of beauty and skincare practices, Be Mused World will also have reviews of beauty products: Korean beauty brand overviews and skincare product reviews (not exclusive to Be Mused Korea brands and products). We will also touch up on skincare ingredients/formulations focused articles, and of course beauty and lifestyle musings from your favorite bloggers!
Just as Be Mused Korea shop launched in past September in beta-mode, Be Mused World is also starting out in beta-mode. We’ll add the bells and whistles as we go, and continue to improve and grow our content. The next six months is our experimental stage. Help us find our voice! Your continued support and suggestions for improvements are key elements to our growth.
By the time I’m ready to pass on this editor-in-chief baton to someone new, I hope Be Mused World has made positive impact to your beauty lifestyle.
