When Be Mused Korea approached me about reviewing the Wonjin Effect Medi Hydro Toner and Emulsion, I did a quick Google search for the ingredients. After finding them, it was a quick, “YES, I’d love to”! The ingredients of these toner and emulsion duo are truly impressive, and I’m happy to report that I was not disappointed in these two formulations.
The Wonjin Effect team has over 40 certified dermatologists on staff, and uses the most effective and technologically advanced ingredients to create products that deeply hydrate and support the health of the skin. They also use natural ingredients as much as possible, and avoid the use of harsh chemicals that may irritate the skin.
Wonjin Effect Medi Hydro Toner
Water, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Ceramide 3, Xylitylglucoside, Anhydroxylitol, Xylitol, Glucose, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Trehalose, Bio Saccharide Gum-1, Panthenol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Bisabolol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Adenosine, Disodium EDTA, Tocopheryl Acetate, Carbomer, Arginine, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Coco-Glucoside, Benzoic Acid, Citric Acid, Chlorphenesin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Fragrance, Ethylhexylglycerin
I was incredibly impressed with the ingredients of the Wonjin Effect Medi Hydro Toner. In addition to the typical humectants, this toner includes 6 (SIX!) forms of the powerful humectant hyaluronic acid. With different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid, this toner absorbs deep into every layer of the skin, plumping it from within. It also includes barrier-supporting ceramide, panthenol, adenosine, and other goodies.
In practice, the toner feels like a slippery watery liquid that’s quite runny. I love it as a first layer in my multi-step skincare routine, as it absorbs deeply and helps subsequent products to absorb better as well. Although it’s very hydrating, it doesn’t feel sticky or heavy. I also find it very soothing and non-sensitizing, making it great for all skin types. This is definitely a toner I’ll keep in rotation permanently!
Wonjin Effect Medi Hydro Emulsion
Water, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Lauric Acid, Myristic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Polysorbate 80, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Xylitylglucoside, Anhydroxylitol, Xylitol, Glucose, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Dimethicone/Vinyl DimethiconeCrosspolymer, Bisabolol., Ceramide 3, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Glycerin, Panthenol, Xanthan Gum, Carbomer, Fragrance, Caprylyl Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Adenosine, Chlorphenesin, Disodium EDTA, Ethylhexylglycerin
Much like the toner, the Wonjin Effect Medi Hydro Emulsion has an impressive ingredient list that includes several forms of hyaluronic acid as well as argan oil and macadamia oil, as well as calming bisabolol, skin barrier-supporting ceramide, and other nutrients.
Despite the inclusion of plant oils in this formula, it doesn’t feel oily or thick — in fact, it’s a very refreshing, but surprisingly moisturizing, light lotion consistency. Like the toner, it feels like it absorbs deeply into my skin and plumps it from within.
The biggest problem I had with the Wonjin Effect Medi Hydro Emulsion was getting it out of the bottle in the first place. The formula is slightly too thick to come out of the reducer mouth of the bottle, leaving me slapping it in my hand like a ketchup bottle. I solved this minor quibble by replacing the reducer cap with an extra pump I had lying around from an empty product. The ease of using the emulsion with the pump has made the Wonjin Effect emulsion one of my favorite products to use right after all my toners and serums.
Overall, I was very impressed with the Wonjin Effect Medi Hydro Toner and Emulsion. Not only were the ingredients amazing, but the formulations were elegant and absorbed well. I hadn’t tried much from the brand before this, but I will definitely be looking forward to more product releases from Wonjin Effect!
